(Guitarist/Instructor)

Hi and thanks for viewing my page.  My name is Emiliano Tanguma and I am a guitar teacher for Mile High Music Academy.  I came from a highly artistic family and was always encouraged to play and perform in the music arena.  At the age of 11 I received my first guitar.  I quickly aspired to learning great guitarist of our time (both then and now) throughout the late Eighties, early Nineties to present.  I toured the southwest region performing both covers and originals.  Currently, I play in various rock, metal, and blues acts in the Denver area.

"I hope that the fun of playing the guitar will be passed on to those who in turn will do the same".

Sincerely, Emiliano Tanguma

(Method of instruction)

My instructional method includes initial meeting which covers setting up the guitar and tuning.  Next we begin our instruction by learning the following:

  • Most students want to learn how to play songs, so during the process of the lessons, I will show you how to play songs by artists you choose from, such as covers tunes from the radio and CD's.

  • Scales, modes and chord structure and all keys. Picking patterns including sweep patterns, finger taps, pedal tones, triplet picking, and all other techniques such as vibrato, legato to name a few that are a necessity for ANY solo guitar player.

  • Theory and mentoring to establish the implementation of what the student has learned into compositions.

  • I teach from a number of books and software programs which will be discussed at our first lesson.

  • Overall knowledge of fret board

  • Comprehensive study of various guitarist such as but not limited to Randy Rodes, Eddie Van Halen, Dimebagg Darrell, Joe Satriani, Slash, and many more.

  • You are never too old to learn to play, so if you are not aspiring to make music your career, it can be a great to learn just for the fun of it.
